(Based on the War of 1812)

                                        ---By Connor Chen

Thousands of sailors kidnapped and dead

The British are nasty, the French are our friends

We trade with the French, the British attack

If we don’t wage war, we’ll meet our ends

The British hate us and we hate them

They arm the Natives, we cannot stand it

We fight at Tippecanoe at a great cost

We win the battle, and we kill the Prophet

We get mad at the British, and we take a stand

We march north, and York goes down

                     The British, enraged, attack D.C

The city is scorched, black and brown

British ships move in towards Baltimore, troops ready to fire

The bombardment of McHenry is devastating, lasting very long

Francis Scott Key watches his country prevail

Key writes a poem, which becomes the Nation’s song

The British think twice, the war is too costly

They want a treaty, the Treaty of Ghent

Madison heard, but it was too late

Jackson was clueless, to New Orleans he went

The British wanted the river,, and they invaded

Jackson defends with pirates and more

The British are caught, open and exposed

The British lose, which ends the war.
