I wish upon a star

Born in 2003 ,young author Audrey Chiang is a 6th grader at Castillero Middle School .She loves writing, reading ,drawing, and going to the beach.  Three years ago, she wrote this poem after a trip to the beach.

the glowing light afar

in the vast sapphire sky

of where the object lies

so deep and blue the universe

with its dark violet hues

and highlighted depths....from the moon.

city of the stars, these twinkling jewels above...

a formation to remember,  these bright fleeting doves

in the night

so cool is the evening air

so mild and so fair

as a fragrant breeze

ripples through trees

a perfect time to think

a perfect time to ponder

a time to let your mind wander

on a single wish

how valuable it is,
